What we do
UCSF Health IT has evaluated artificial intelligence applications for early risk alerting, for advanced imaging diagnostics, and for improved EHR workflows for nearly a decade.
When considering AI tools in support of care delivery for UCSF's diverse patient populations, our approach is to investigate AI solutions widely, evaluate them selectively, and deploy them carefully.
The Health IT Data Science team developed and manages the HIPAC cloud computing platform, which integrates AI applications with UCSF's Apex medical records system. The team also chairs the UCSF Health AI Oversight committee.
